Andrew Knight completed undergraduate medical training at UNSW in 1984 and specialised in general practice. As well as clinical practice mainly in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney he was a medical educator with the RACGP training program from 1998 and became founding Director of Training for the regional training provider WentWest in 2002. During this time he developed an interest in EBM and implementation which led to a decade of leadership in the Australian Primary Care Collaboratives Program involving approximately 2000 general practices in quality improvement. He is currently a staff specialist and conjoint senior lecturer at the Fairfield GP Unit. He has been director and chair of the Blue Mountains Division of General Practice, the Nepean Blue Mountains Medicare Local and is chair of the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network. He has been a director of NPS Medicinewise since 2010. Andrew's areas of publication have included rare diseases, medical education and quality improvement.
