There are a number of specialisations available in the postgraduate degrees offered by the School. Specialisations enable students to complete a specialised program of study in their postgraduate coursework degree. The specialisation title will appear on your official academic transcript and testamur (degree certificate). For example 'Master of Public Health in Social Research'. Students who do not wish to complete a specialisation will graduate with a 'Master of Public Health'. Completing a specialisation is optional and not compulsory.

If a student wishes to complete a specialisation as part of their Master of Public Health or Master of Global Health they must be enrolled in one of the degrees.

Students are required to complete the specialisation requirements as clearly stated in the Online Handbook. Students who are enrolled in a specialisation but do not enrol in the correct courses to meet the specialisation requirements will not be eligible for the specialisation.

Students who change degrees and/or decide to change specialisations will not be permitted to over-enrol in courses to meet specialisation / degree requirements. This means students will not be permitted to enrol in more than 48 units of credit to meet the specialisation requirements. Students should plan their courses in advance if they intend on completing a specialisation and enrol in the correct courses to meet the specialisation requirements.
