Interested in disaster and emergency management, security and public health? Take your career to the next level by enrolling today in our Bachelor of International Public Health program, or our postgraduate programs from the Public Health Security Cluster.

The PLuS Alliance is a ground breaking union between UNSW Sydney, Arizona State University and King’s College London. It was formed to tackle complex problems and provide a global learning experience.

The risk of bioterrorism and pandemics is increasing. Natural disasters and forced displacement of people pose additional public health challenges. First responders in the field must have a cross-disciplinary understanding of the health aspects of emergency response and disaster recovery in a wide range of situations. You can choose from a suite of programs in public health, emergency management and security. They will equip graduates with advanced disciplinary skills in disaster and epidemic management.

Three postgraduate programs are available in public health and security:

Do you want to tackle global health issues and join a profession that operates across borders? The Bachelor of International Public Health will provide you with an understanding of the key issues impacting the health of populations around the world.

We offer an undergraduate program in public health:

You can do these programs fully online or face-to-face or a combination of both. Whether you're interested in disaster management, emergency response or public health and biosecurity you'll have coursework from both UNSW and ASU in your program. You'll be part of the unique global experience in the virtual classroom with students from both universities.

We use novel teaching methods in all our courses. In our postgraduate Public Health Security Cluster we use the web series 'Pandemic'. Our expert international speakers come from a range of agencies which include law enforcement as well as defence and public health. They provide unparalleled, cross-sectoral insights into public health, biosecurity and emergency response. We also have faculty from both UNSW and ASU teaching across all our PLuS Alliance programs.

We cater for a variety of backgrounds and include pre-course modules for postgraduate participants from outside the health sector. Whatever your needs, we have a program for you. Get in touch for more information.

The School of Population Health is excited to be the first school at UNSW to participate in collaborative teaching programs in the PLuS Alliance with Arizona State University and King’s College London. The alliance amongst three of the world’s leading universities will enable the institutions to join forces to help find research-led solutions to some of our most pressing global challenges.  You can read more about this new partnership on the PLuS Alliance website.

In addition to our Bachelors of International Public Health PLuS Alliance program, we are excited to offer postgraduate courses with Arizona State University (ASU), as part of the Plus Alliance. Students from ASU are able to complete a number of SPH courses in the fields of Health Leadership and Management, Emergency Management, Global Health and Infectious Diseases. Students from UNSW are able to complete specialised courses offered by ASU in Emergency Management that are not currently available at UNSW.

These opportunities create a global classroom which enable students from both countries to enhance the learning experience by sharing their diverse backgrounds and experiences.

This website is to provide UNSW students with the relevant information in regard to undertaking a PLuS Alliance course at Arizona State University as part of your SPH degree.
